Citizen Weather Observer system
The weather data from Dave's Backyard is also transmitted to the Citizen Weather Observer system via the APRSWXNET facility, which is derived from a Ham Radio system orginally used for position reporting and text messaging via Ham repeaters and networks. That data is also collected by NOAA along with other amateur weather data for their use.
